On the morning of April 4, 2019, Salvador Perez passed away at his home in Elgin, IL, surrounded by loving family. Salvador was born in June 18, 1932 in Harlingen, Texas to his loving parents, Isidro and Josefina Perez.
Salvador was a proud U.S. Army Veteran who served during the Korean War, 1952-1954. He earned the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Ribbon with Bronze Campaign Star, and the Combat Infantry Badge.
In 1987, Salvador married Delfina Perez, and together they shared 32 years of unconditional love.
Salvador was a devoted Chicago White Sox fan, and he was able to pass his love for baseball down to his children, nephews, and grandchildren.
Loved ones will remember Salvador as a hard-working man. He was someone you could count on who had a big heart and was willing to help anyone in need.
Although Salvador is resting now, his love, care, and life lessons that he gave everyone around him will live on.
Salvador was preceded in death by his parents, Isidro and Josefina, brothers Fidencio and Rafael, and daughter Lidia.
He is survived by his dear wife, Delfina; children Juan, Margarita, and Jesus; six step-children, Rocael, Lilian, Marvin, Julio, Erick and Aleyda; sisters Elena and Socorro, thirty grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, eight nieces and seven nephews.
Visitation will be 5:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St., Elgin IL 60120. Visitation will continue 10:00a.m. until time of service at 11:00a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, Rev. Michael Murschel officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, 1001 Villa St., Elgin IL 60120.
