John Joseph Walton, age 68, of Elgin passed away Thursday September 25, 2014 at St. Joesph Hospital in Elgin, IL. He was born December 14, 1945 in Muskegon, MI to Victor and Adele Ruzicka.
John was adopted on November 1, 1946 after the death of his mother on December 23, 1945, to Thomas and Lorraine Walton. He grew up in Mount Prospect, IL and Cary, IL. His family moved to Pittsfield Massachusetts, where his father owned one of the first McDonald’s in Pittsfield. John Joined the U.S. Navy on October 5, 1965 serving on the USS Springfield as motion picture projectionist. After Leaving the US Navy in 1969 he worked as a furniture mover. He enjoyed building furniture for his friends and himself, Later in life he became a big Chicago bears fan. John was a people person he enjoyed meeting new people everyday and making them a true friend.
He survived by his daughter Patricia (Bill) Ashley and his grandson Nicholas, Lucas Ashley.
Interment will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday October 8, 2014 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL with Military honors. Funeral Arrangement have be entrusted to Madison Funeral Home 305 Park Elgin, IL 60120
