Jack Forbes, age 86, of Carpentersville, passed into the arms of his Lord on February 17, 2018 at Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin. He was born September 6th 1931 in Shelburn, Indiana, to Andrew and Cora Forbes (nee McDaniel).
Jack graduated from Shelburn High School and entered the U.S. Army in 1949, serving his country during the Korean War, until 1952. He operated the Military Tanks.
Following his military service, Jack worked for Bell and Howell for 30 years, retiring in 1994.
He found his other half Marjorie Etzel, in 1958, and they celebrated 60 years together.
Loved ones will remember him as Dr. Doolittle his life was filled with passion; everyone and every animal around him knew it. He loved unconditionally and had a wonderful sense of humor. Jack was a follower and chaperone of the Dundee Scots for years. He also treasured his years with family and friends at his cottage on Bills Lake in Lac Du Flambeau, WI.
Jack was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; children Lisa Adams and Vince (Jana) Forbes; grandchildren Ryley Adams, Morgan Adams, McKenna (Randy) Givens, and Kobin Forbes and Zachary Forbes; and great-grandchildren MaKyla Adams and Noah Givens.
