Benjamin Jones, age 90, of Schaumburg, passed away December 9, 2017 in Elgin. Benjamin was born March 8, 1927 in Chicago, IL to his loving parents, James and Mary Jones (nee Pickett).
Benjamin served his country with the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He was married to the love of his life, Eleanor Jones, for 70 wonderful years.
Loved ones will remember Benjamin as a fairly simple and fun-loving man who loved his wife and family deeply. He cared for his nieces and nephews as if they were his own children.
In his free time, Benjamin enjoyed caring for the family dog and riding his bike. He also enjoyed food, especially good cheeses and hard salamis.
He is survived by his loving wife, Eleanor. his nephews, Sheila (Baker) Thompson, Debbie Harrison, Robin James, Tammy James, Jarrett (Rachel) Judkins, Jules Judkins, Jerome V. Judkins and Felicidad (Cee Cee) Thompson as well as a host of cousins and other relatives.
Memorial visitation will be Saturday, December 23, 2017 10:00a.m. until time of Memorial Service at 11:00a.m. at South Park Missionary Baptist Church, 3722 S. Martin Luther King Dr., Chicago IL 60653, Rev. Donald Crump officiating.
